Natural Recipes & Remedies

I just went to the dentist on Monday and as I left I was given Crest Whitestrips to try.  Immediately, I thought ok so the person that just gave me these must think I need them lol.  Yea, to keep it real, I do need them.  I've been drinking coffee for years and have had a glass of red wine or two ;) so, I really do need to whiten my teeth.

Lately, I've been concerned about all of the chemicals that are in our consumer products these days, especially those that I put in my mouth!  So I decided to check the ingredients in the Whitestrips and here's what I discovered from Crest's website:

WaterPrevents carbomer from dehydrating the teeth.
GlycerinHumectant, acts to thicken gel, helps make gel sticky so it will adhere to teeth.
Hydrogen PeroxideWhitening Ingredient
CarbomerGel agent, gives adhesion properties to gel
Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)Adhesive polymer

I don't know what half of those ingredients are - so I'm going to stick with what I DO know.

ALL NATURAL TEETH WHITENING RECIPE:
Toothpaste
Baking Soda
Hydrogen Peroxide
Water

(I know all of those ingredients, don't you?) ;)

Place a small amount of toothpaste into a cup.  Mix one teaspoon each of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.  Add 1/2 teaspoon of water.  Stir together.  Brush your teeth with the mixture for at least two minutes.  Use this recipe twice a week until your teeth are the color of your dreams and after that just twice a month. SMILE PURTY!!
